Today I want to talk to you about Imposter Syndrome (IS). You know that feeling like at any moment everyone is going to discover you don’t know what the hell you’re doing? Yeah, I have it too. 70% of us do.
Did you know there are different (ineffective) ways we try to manage our IS? They can be broken down into five subtypes of imposter: The Perfectionist, The Expert, The Soloist, The Natural Genius, and The Superhuman.
If you want to know your subtype you can take the quiz here. If you’ve already taken the quiz, share it with your friends and on social media because there’s going to be more to come from me on managing Imposter Syndrome! AND the more we share our stories, the less power our imposter voice has.
In this month’s Psychologists Off The Clock episode, Debbie interviews me about all things Imposter Syndrome. You can check it out wherever you listen to podcasts, or listen on offtheclockpsych.com. |
